Hodges leads U.S.

Former Llanelli forward to face Welsh in Cardiff

CARDIFF (Reuters) -- David Hodges, the former Bridgend and Llanelli back row forward, will captain the United States when it meets Wales in a rugby union international at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.

Hodges, now playing for San Diego club OMBAC, will have players plying their club trades in France, Australia, Italy, Scotland and England in a side attempting to beat Wales for the first time at the sixth attempt.

Dan Lyle, the Bath number eight, will win his 27th cap while Montferrand's Kevin Dalzell will have to be at his best to get the best of his scrumhalf duel with Robert Howley.

U.S.: 15-Kurt Shuman; 14-Jovesa Naivalu, 13-Phillip Eloff, 12-Juan Grobler, 11-Malakai Delai; 10-Grant Wells, 9-Kevein Dalzell; 8-Dan Lyle, Olo Fifita, 6-David Hodges (captain), 5-Philippe Farner, 4-Luke Gross, 3-Paul Still, 2-Kirk Khasigian, 1-Joe Clayton.

Replacements: Robbie Flynn, Tim Kluempers, Matt Kane, Alex Magleby, Mose Timoteo, Link Wilfley, Jason Keyter.
