DUBLIN, Ireland (AP) -- England's Six Nations Grand Slam dream was thwarted for the third season in a row Saturday as Ireland scored a 20-14 victory at Lansdowne Road.

After losing to Wales and Scotland in the final round of matches in each the last two seasons, Clive Woodward's team completed an unwanted Triple Crown of losses and the winning the Six Nations title again was scant consolation for a team that believes itself on equal terms with the South Hemisphere rugby giants Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Ireland's inspirational hooker and captain Keith Wood scored his team's only try while Austin Healey replied for England. But the English were under pressure for much of the game, conceding penalties throughout the game and David Humphries (three) and Ronan O'Gara (two) made them pay.

Jonny Wilkinson kicked three penalties for Woodward's team but it looked nothing like the team that impressibe won its other four games before a foot and mouth outbreak halted the championship last March.
