Alexandria, a senior at Morgan Park High, jumped 20'9" at the Class AA track and field finals, breaking Jackie Joyner-Kersee's 1979 state long jump record. Alexandria has won 13 individual Illinois championships and holds state records in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes.

Schwartz, a senior lefthander at Rowan, is the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association pitcher of the year for the third straight season. He was 13-0 this year with a 1.74 ERA and had the longest ongoing streak in the NCAA (all divisions) with 37 consecutive wins.

Kristen Kjellman
WESTWOOD, MASS. > Lacrosse
Kjellman, a sophomore midfielder at Northwestern, scored five goals in a 13-10 win over Virginia that gave the Wildcats (21-0) their first women's NCAA lacrosse title and first national championship since 1941. She was the tournament MVP and had a team-high 59 goals this season.

Jamaal Charles
PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS > Track and Field
Jamaal, a senior at Port Arthur Memorial High, won gold medals in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles at the state Class 5A meet. His 300-meter time of 36.03 was the best among high school runners in the nation this year. He will attend the University of Texas on a football scholarship.

Kristi Miller
MARYSVILLE, MICH. > Tennis
Miller, a freshman at Georgia Tech, had a 42-9 singles record playing in the No. 1 position and helped the Yellow Jackets to their first Atlantic Coast Conference tennis title (men's or women's) and a No. 6 national ranking. She is the Atlantic Coast Conference rookie of the year.

Jeff Stroupe
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. > Lacrosse
Jeff, a junior attack at Chaparral High, led the Firebirds to their 30th straight victory and second consecutive Arizona Youth League title with eight goals and five assists in a 14-6 win over Chandler. He scored a state-best 115 points this season and is the Arizona offensive MVP.
