Brittany, a righthanded pitcher for Northwest High, set the Texas record for career strikeouts with 1,603, moving up to 10th alltime nationally. At week's end she had struck out 376 in 176 innings this spring and had a 23-2 record without giving up an earned run. The senior was batting .505 with four homers and 33 RBIs.

Patience, a senior at Southern High, has won three indoor and three outdoor North Carolina high jump championships as well as two Nike Indoor titles and the U.S. junior nationals. She was the only high school female to clear six feet in 2006, and she placed ninth at the World Junior Championships in Beijing.

Cam, a seventh-grader at Portsmouth Middle School, was the only U.S. athlete last year to play in the Little League World Series and the Quebec International Pee Wee Hockey Tournament. A first baseman and a forward, Cam helped his baseball team reach the U.S. semifinals; his hockey team was second in the B division.

Teresa, a junior at Germantown Academy, won the Kiputh Award for the highest point total at the USA Swimming Spring Championships. She finished first in the 200 backstroke and 400 individual medley, second in the 200 IM, third in the 400 and 800 freestyle, fifth in the 200 free and seventh in the 100 backstroke.

FaceCase and Mason, high school juniors and members at the Country Club of Paducah, have each won consecutive state golf championships. Case has won two Kentucky titles for St. Mary's, and Mason has won the Illinois crown twice for Massac County.
