Kip, a junior attacker for the Blake School, was named an All-America for the second time and all-state player for the third time. The only sophomore on last year's U.S. lacrosse All-America team, he had 28 goals with 39 assists that season and 34 goals and 31 assists this year.

GAYVILLE, S.D. > Track and Field
Emma, a senior at Gayville-Volin High, won three events (400, 800 and 1,600 meters) and ran the anchor leg of the winning 1,600 sprint medley relay at the state Class B track meet. Named the most outstanding performer, Emma had qualified in 11 events, with the state's best times in five, but could only compete in four.

Vincent Johnson
PORTLAND > Golf
Johnson, a junior at Oregon State, shot a six-under 210 to win the PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship by 12 strokes at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Johnson, who was diagnosed with Graves' disease last year, has the third-best single-season stroke average (72.43) in school history.

Melissa, a junior forward at Berkner High, was named Gatorade national girls' soccer player of the year, becoming only the seventh nonsenior to win a Gatorade award in any sport. A member of the U.S. under-20 team, she had 24 goals and 12 assists this year and is the Rams' career scoring leader with 66 goals.

Rachel Jeffers
LOS GATOS, CALIF. > Rowing
Jeffers, a senior in the stroke seat for Yale's unbeaten varsity eight, helped the Bulldogs, ranked second nationally, win the Ivy League title at the Eastern Sprints. A two-time All-America, she won a silver with the U.S. eight at the last FISA World Cup and a bronze in the women's fours at the 2006 world championships.

URBANA, MD. > Baseball
Tyler, 8, twice accomplished one of baseball's rarest feats when he turned an unassisted triple play in consecutive games for the White Sharks of the Urbana Junior Hawks Baseball League. Once as a pitcher and once as a shortstop, Tyler caught line drives with the bases loaded and then tagged two runners.
