Martinez, a recent graduate of West Orange High, is Gatorade's national boys' player of the year. The midfielder scored 85­­ goals and had 90 assists in his career, including 21 goals and 21 assists during his senior season, in which he led the Mountaineers to a state title. He will attend Seton Hall in the fall.

Katie, a senior righthanded pitcher at Cabrini High, allowed one run all season, a national record, and threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts to help the Monarchs win the state championship. She pitched 32 shutouts with 12 no-hitters and had an ERA of 0.04 this year.

Ryan, 18, is the U.S. Rubik's Cube champ. The senior at Rancho Vista High averaged 14.92 seconds in solving the three-by-three-by-three cube three times at the U.S. Open. He holds the world record in one-handed cubing (average solve time: 24.03 seconds) and will compete at the world championships in Hungary.
