Tahnai, a senior midfielder at Pickerington North High, scored 17 goals, had five assists and was named Division I player of the year by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association. She was first-team all-state three times and had 86 career goals.
Infante, a senior defender at American, was named Patriot League defensive player of the year for a second time. A second-team All-America last year, she also led the league in scoring with 33 points and was tied for eighth nationally in assists (0.65 per game).
Derek Doerfler

Doerfler, a junior at Baker, kicked eight field goals and an extra point, accounting for 25 of the Wildcats' 31 points in consecutive wins. Five of the field goals were of at least 50 yards, including a 62-yard game-winner in the final minute against William Jewell; he was twice named NAIA special teams player of the week.

Burkhalter, 49, finished 12th among 83 competitors in the Mini Transat, a 4,230-mile, solo transatlantic race in 21-foot boats from La Rochelle, France, to Salvador, Brazil; he is the first American to place in the top 15 in the 30-year history of the event, completing it in 25 days, 10 hours, 45 minutes and 36 seconds.
Judd P. Sato III
WAILUKU, HAWAII > Powerlifting
Judd, a junior at Maui High, set the bench-press world record for his age (16- and 17-year-olds) and weight (181 pounds) class, pressing 325 pounds. He also holds the Hawaii record in the deadlift (424 pounds) and qualified for the World Association of Benchpress and Deadlift championships later this month.
Paola Ampudia
CALI, COLOMBIA > Volleyball
Ampudia, a sophomore outside hitter at Miami Dade, ranks fifth in the NJCAA in kill percentage (57.08%) and is ninth in the state in kills per game (3.85). She was the Southern Conference player of the year for the second time and led the 30–0 Sharks to a Florida Community College Activities Association title.
