Tani, a senior forward this fall at Kalani High, is a two-time state scoring champ. She had 12 goals in 2007 and 23 goals in '08, both tops among boys and girls in Hawaii -- even though she missed four games to play for the U.S. under-17 national team.
Steven Zavala

Zavala, a Rutgers-bound graduate of Randolph High, batted .532 with 42 hits, 20 steals and 36 RBIs. He had the Newark Star-Ledger's hitting performance of the year: 5 for 5, with two home runs, four RBIs and five runs in a 13-6 win over Seton Hall Prep. The centerfielder was also the paper's player of the year in '07.
Courtney Schultz
CLOUDCROFT, N.MEX. > Track and Field
Schultz, a recent graduate of Cloudcroft High, repeated as the distance triple crown winner by winning the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 at the Class 2A meet; her time in the 1,600 (5:10.13) is a state record. Her twin sister, Camille, was second in all three races. The sisters will attend Oklahoma State this fall.
Craig Dowd
EAST NORTHPORT, N.Y. > Lacrosse
Dowd, a junior this fall at Georgetown, scored three goals and had two assists as the U.S. beat Canada 19-12 in the International Lacrosse Federation's under-19 World Cup final; he was named the tournament's most outstanding attackman. He was the Hoyas' No. 2 scorer in the spring with 14 goals and 23 assists.
Christian Waddey
NASHVILLE > Football, Track and Field, Wrestling
Waddey, a Virginia-bound graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy, won the state championship in the pole vault with a meet record 15' 11". He placed fourth in Tennessee wrestling at 160 pounds and rushed for 1,025 yards to lead the Big Red to a 13-0 record and the Division II-AA football title.

Timko, a freshman at Robert Morris this fall, was a four-year all-state shortstop for Chartiers-Houston High. For her career there she batted .522 with 20 doubles, 21 triples, 32 home runs, 88 RBIs, 52 stolen bases, 143 runs and a .667 on-base percentage.
