Ashley Wirtzberger
GILA BEND, ARIZ. > Basketball

Ashley, a senior guard at Gila Bend High, hit five three-point field goals in a 64-18 win over San Pasquel to become the national career leader; through Sunday she had 477 three-pointers. Ashley is also the Arizona record holder in career assists (832) and single-game assists (21), and has the state Class 2A single-season mark of 234 assists.

Jasmine Porter
LAYTON, UTAH > Basketball, Volleyball

Jasmine, a senior forward at Layton Christian Academy, broke the state single-game scoring record with 51 points in a 92-23 win over Maeser Prep. In the fall she helped the Eagles win the state Class 2A volleyball championship, their first, with 17 kills, 10 digs and 10 blocks in a three-set win over South Summit. Jasmine was tournament and class MVP.

Levi Cabral
RIO DE JANEIRO > Volleyball

Cabral, a sophomore outside hitter at California Baptist, had 36 kills in a 3-2 win over No. 7 Long Beach State, 18 in a 3-0 win over No. 8 UCLA and 24 in a 3-2 win over No. 4 Pepperdine. It was the first time the Lancers, an NAIA program, had beaten those NCAA Division I teams. As a freshman Cabral set the school single-match kill record (38).

Peter French
AUSTIN > Fencing

French, a senior at Air Force, won his second straight Division I men's épée division in a North American Cup competition, defeating Igor Gantsevich of the Canadian Senior National Team 15-13. Earlier this season French finished first in the senior mixed épée division at the Amarillo Open and the Falcon Open.

Madalayne Smith
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. > Track and Field

Madalayne, a senior at Saratoga Springs High, won the 55-meter hurdles in 7.90 seconds at the Yale Interscholastic Track Classic, breaking a 22-year-old meet record. It was the fastest time in the country this season. She was the New York Division I indoor champion in the event in 2009, when she also won the 55-meter dash plus the outdoor 100 hurdles.

Ryan Malo
GEORGETOWN, MASS. > Wrestling

Malo, a junior at Williams, pinned all four of his opponents in the 197-pound division of a quad meet at Plymouth State to break the single-season school record for pins (24) that he had set as a sophomore, when he led the NCAA and was an All-America. Through Sunday, Malo led NCAA Division III with 28 pins and was ranked No. 2 in his weight class.
