Aaron, a 6-foot-8 senior swingman at Archbishop Mitty High, scored a game-high 24 points and had eight rebounds to lead the West team to a 110-99 win over the East at the 36th annual McDonald's All-American game in Chicago. A Morgan Wootten national high school player of the year finalist, he averaged 21.6 points and 15.7 rebounds, leading the Monarchs to the inaugural CIF open division championship game. Aaron, named California's Mr. Basketball in 2012, will play at Arizona.

Danielle, a senior at Lakewood Ranch High who competes for the Sarasota Sharks, broke the 1,000-yard freestyle meet record by 11.9 seconds at the YMCA short course nationals in Greensboro, N.C., with a 9:27.19 finish, the sixth-fastest time ever by a U.S. girl age 17 or 18. This season she repeated as the state's Class 2A 500-yard freestyle champ and as the Florida Dairy Farmers' Miss Swimming. Danielle, who reached the 800-meter free finals at the 2012 Olympic trials, will swim for Florida.

Gunner, a senior righthander at Carlisle High (Price, Texas), threw a perfect game against Gary High, striking out all 15 batters in a 15-0 victory. In his next start he fanned four more to tie the national record for consecutive strikeouts (22) set 40 years ago. Told by doctors last October that he could lose his left leg after developing compartment syndrome from a football injury, Gunner was 8-0 at week's end for the undefeated Indians, with 98 Ks and 16 walks in 44 innings and a 0.00 ERA.
Noora Raty

Raty, a senior goaltender at Minnesota, made 47 saves in two games at the Frozen Four, including 21 in a 6-3 finals win over Boston, to help the Gophers finish the season 41-0-0 and win a second straight national championship. Named most outstanding player of the tournament for the second year in a row, she had 17 shutouts in 2012-13 and led the NCAA with a .956 save percentage. Raty started for Finland's bronze-medal-winning team at the '10 Olympics.
Sam Kendricks

Kendricks, a sophomore pole vaulter at Mississippi, cleared an NCAA-season-best 19 feet and three-quarters of an inch to win the title at the Texas Relays in Austin and shatter his own school record, which he set at the SEC championships last May (18 feet and one-half inch). The highest vault in the world so far this year, it was also the best in the NCAA since 1998 and the fifth highest in collegiate history. Through Sunday, Kendricks had won seven consecutive regular-season college pole vault competitions, dating to last April.
Alani Johnson

Alani, a junior forward at the Cape Henry Collegiate School, had a hat trick in a 4-0 win over her former team, Bayside High, for which she had a team-high 21 goals and 17 assists last year. In January her goal lifted the U-17 Richmond Kickers to a 2-1 victory over Beadling Soccer Club (Bridgeville, Pa.) and a second straight title at the Disney Soccer Showcase. Last month Alani helped the Olympic Development Program's Region I team win the Kuban Spring Tournament in Sochi, Russia.
