A unique take on sports news, updated several times throughout the day.
Spurs have smooth, kissable lipsCome on, it was Salt Lake City. A fan actually tossed lip balm at Bowen. In most cities, that's considered a kindly gesture. Nobody wants chapped lips. Though in truth, that little glass container can really sting. Said Bowen: "They threw Carmex at me. I like Carmex, but not getting it thrown at me." What are the odds they are dancing in the halls at Carmex's Wisconsin headquarters today? Though they shouldn't get too physical; Manu Ginobili might get awarded two more free throws.

Comments:Genuine accidental product placement! I'd be dancing, too, if I were in Carmex' HQ.
The Spurs' owner needs lip balm from kissing Stern's a$$ so muxh. That owner is the only owner to abstain from a recent official protest to Stern by all mid-market owners concerning the NBA's financial revenue sharing. Surprised by the disparity of foul calls last night or the suspensions of the two Suns? Don't be.
Not too cool. That could have done some real damage. Cite: in the late 1980's i had attended a WASP concert in Abilene, Texas when some idiot in the crowd hurled a Carmex container at Blackie Lawless, nailing him right between the eyes. The concert stopped with blood flowing from Mr. Lawless' head. Fans need to quit acting like morons and keep their frustration to verbal insults.
So once again we see just how far the officials will go to ensure a San Antonio victory. Yes the Jazz missed some shots down the stretch. But four techicals? Come on... It got to the point where the Jazz coulndn't even touch the Spurs and they still called fouls on the Jazz. As a diehard fan of basketball, it makes me sick to see that kind of blatant partiality and, to be honest, I hope the East wins this year.
I was unfortunate enough to have to watch the last period of that disgrace, and it just reminded me of all the reasons I haven't watched "pro" (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) basketball since the ABA folded. I hope the Spurs remember to vote Stern a playoff share.
You guys do realize that the Spurs where up by 23 going into the forth quarter, dont you? Dont act like anything in that period had any bearing on the final outcome.
More likely of reason for the Jazz losing was letting the Spurs shoot 51% while they only shot 38% from the field...but go ahead and pretend you got cheated... |
