A unique take on sports news, updated several times throughout the day.
Football is a dream to Priest Holmes Maybe Billy Beane had a point: Cardinals pitcher Anthony Reyes, who retired 17 Tigers in a row at one point in winning Game 1 of the 2006 World Series with eight-plus strong innings, won his first game of the year on Sunday. He's now 1-10. What was it that Beane said about the postseason being a crapshoot? A lot of mega-trades today, with Mark Teixeira going to the Braves and Kevin Garnett (maybe) heading to the Celtics. Here's one more. Though I realize that nobody cares about anybody else's fantasy team, in an effort to justify a portion of my negotiation time as "work," I'm hereby announcing my trade of Jake Peavy, Oliver Perez and Kazuo Matsui for Albert Pujols, Ken Griffey Jr. and Dmitri Young. (It's an NL-only, 4x4 league, and I ended up with the latter three hitters.)

Comments:I hope Pujol's inevitable hot streak is able to cover for Griffey's inevitable injury absence.
It is interesting that Priest has returned, KC is happy to see him take another shot. Hope he doesn't take too hard of a shot from someone else though.
He could become the Boobie Miles of the NFL. |
