New Two-A-Days would be a swinging good time

So far MTV hasn't announced a decision on whether to return to Alabama's powerhouse Hoover High football team for a third season of Two-A-Days. If they do, though, I'm hereby setting my TiVo because things around the Hoover program just got a lot more interesting.

The school's principal, Richard Bishop, was dismissed last week but has evidently decided not to leave quietly. His attorneys fired off a letter to the school board (the Birmingham News has a full pdf file here) that alleged, among other things, that loudmouth coach Rush Propst has had affairs with two school employees. Oh yeah, and that Propst allegedly has "a secret family and a completely separate life."

Whoa, nellie! I've only seen snippets of Two-A-Days, just enough to peg Propst as the egotistical, pompous, blowhard, love-the-spotlight type. But speaking purely theoretically -- Propst's attorney called the "rumors" about his client's personal life "unfortunate" though he didn't actually deny them -- how could Propst pull this off?

I know from watching Big Love that being married to more than one woman at a time is a huge challenge, and that's even when all the women have signed on to the multi-partner program. So how does a prominent high school football coach -- with his own nationally televised TV show! -- manage to maintain a secret family? It boggles the mind.

Maybe Family 2 knows about Family 1 but not vice versa? Does one family not own a TV (or perhaps not get even basic cable), or live out of state? Does Propst play the brusque, successful football coach in one home and, say, a mild-mannered actuary in the other?

Regardless of the answers, MTV, that's sheer drama. Please don't let your public down. (Via AOL FanHouse.)

Hey, Charles Kuralt had a second family and he had a weekly network show. Granted, Sunday Morning might've had an even smaller audience even though it was on the network.

Just a wild guess here, I've never heard of the show or the team, but my money says the football team has a winning record, right? I can't see where there would be a fuss made about dismissing a coach who was 2-10 last year.

Yeah, Rick. he's the winningest HS football coach in history I think.

He should be a great coach, I am pretty sure he fathered his defensive backfield.
