Programming announcement

Starting on Monday, the 10 Spot Blog will be housed on SI.com's FanNation site rather than produced on Blogger, though you will still be able to find it the same way through its customary direct links from the front pages of both SI.com and Extra Mustard. Other SI.com writers such as Andrew Perloff and Jake Luft have already moved their blogs to FanNation, which will ultimately house all SI.com bloggers in addition to its current role as home to Truth & Rumors and a slew of user-interactive features.

The primary functional difference to the change will be that readers will have to register with FanNation in order to post a comment. Once you register, however, your feedback will be posted immediately rather than waiting for a moderator (historically, me) to read and approve it first. That should lead to more real-time give-and-take, both between you and me and also among yourselves. FanNation will also enable the 10 Spot Blog to offer new features such as an RSS feed and a running tally of the number of comments.

Anyway, we can talk more about this on Monday, but I just wanted to give everyone a head's up. I know from experience that many 10 Spot readers don't like change. Oh, and for the record, the hat is staying off.

Have a great weekend.

Would you consider a compromise, perhaps wearing a visor?
Why does your picture on the 10 Spot cut the very top of your head off? Are you bald? Personally I'm thinning so I feel your pain.

Will Fan Nation be funny?

Hey Pete, just wanted to say I love your column and I think you are a pretty funny guy. The good thing about your blog is now you might post 2 or 3 times per day, instead of just once in the morning, so I have more excuses at work to navigate to your page.

(One note on the blogger comments: The only rule is to keep it clean. No curse words, please. This is a family blog.)
