Colt Brennan's $4 Million Insurance Policy

Oakland Arena
How much is Colt Brennan's golden right arm worth? According to James D. Edgeworth and Associates, it's $4 million.
Jordan Murph/Icon SMI
While NFL scouts and Heisman voters continue to speculate how good a quarterback Colt Brennan really is, one company has actually reached an answer. After much mathematical deliberation, Brennan and the good folks at James D. Edgeworth and Associates have figured out that right now he's worth $4 million. As a result, Brennan took out a $28,000 loan and bought a $4 million insurance policy that will protect against a serious injury derailing his promising career.

Brennan is hardly the first NCAA athlete to insure himself -- devastating injuries such as the one Willis McGahee suffered in his final collegiate game have now made the practice fairly common. While Brennan says his policy covers any injury that would be "detrimental to my draft position," once he gets to the draft it's another story. The policy does nothing to protect against is being picked by the Lions.

Playboy Takes a Bite out of Facebook

Oakland Arena
Will everyone's favorite girls next door be a part of Playboy U.? Go online and find out.
It was only a matter of time before Playboy jumped on the online social networking bandwagon. This fall the company is launching "Playboy U", a new site for college students that offers many of the some features as Facebook and MySpace. The main difference is that unlike with the other two social networking sites, parents, professors, and university employees are not permitted to join Playboy U. It's for students only.

Although the site already contains skimpy photos from a Playboy mansion party, students should be aware that there is no nudity allowed on Playboy U. Students should also be aware that contrary to popular belief, signing up for the site will not make lonely playboy bunnies instantly appear in their rooms.
