Be an Iowa State Captain For a Day

Sick of playing beer-pong before the game? Iowa State fans can bid to become the team's honorary captain, ballboy and more.

Have you ever wanted to be a captain at a Division-1 football game? Now you can. Starting this month the Iowa State athletic department will begin holding weekly auctions for just about anything and everything. That includes autographed footballs, the role of retrieving the kicking tee after kickoffs, and the distinction of being an honorary captain for a football game. All you need to do is log onto cyclones.com and start the bidding.

Of course being an honorary captain sounds fun, but it can get a little bit dicey when the team loses and the coach places the blame squarely on your shoulders. And not to take anything away from the thrill of running onto a football field to retrieve a tee, but you'd be paying money to perform a task a dog can do.

That is the best looking table I have ever seen in my life. Also I really like that van. I was wonder if you guys ever thought about doing a tournament. Keep up the good tailgating.-
