It's never too early to make a prediction...
It also means it's time to look ahead to the 2008 draft -- annually the most exciting period on the NBA calendar, when fans can forget the disappointment of the previous season. The most respected 2008 mock draft out on the Internet (read: the only 2008 mock draft out on the Internet) can be found on nbadraft.net, which already posted next year's version well before this year's took place.
With no sure things like Greg Oden or Kevin Durant, next year's draft looks wide open. According to nbadraft.net, the 2008 lottery will go as follows:
2. Michael Beasley
3. Nicholas Batum
4. O.J. Mayo
5. Donte Greene
6. Chase Budinger
7. Darrell Arthur
8. Eric Gordon
9. Darren Collison
10. Roy Hibbert
11. Hasheem Thabeet
12. Alexey Shved
13. DeAndre Jordan
14. Jerryd Bayless
Is this what next year's draft will eventually look like? Probably not, but there's no reason not to start the debate.
Will Memphis freshman point guard Derrick Rose, who's only 6-foot-2, really go No. 1 ahead of Beasley and Mayo? Will any dark horses emerge and shoot to the top of the lottery? Will Hibbert and Thabeet pay the same price Josh McRoberts did for returning to school?
Give us your prediction’s on the 2008 NBA Draft.

There is no chance tha hibbert is not the number 1 nest year
DRose is the best player in next years predraft... If youve sseen him play you know what he is capable of. Strong quick point guard who can really get up, his only question mark is his jumper, but out of everything in basketball with time and work ethic he can fix that. OJ is overrated, and Beasly will be a great pro one day. I think of him as more of a left handed Horford. He has an attitude too, so that may drop him a little. The sleeper is Eric Gordan, watch out he has an NBA body with an all-around game, the only thing he lacks is heigth for a 2 guard at 6'5
Eric Gordon 8th? I guess you've never seen him play. He's definite top 5 and maybe top 3.
But there is a chance you can't spell!
O.J. Mayo will go first
Chase Budinger will average 23 points 9 boards for Arizona and move into the top 2.
hibbert and thabeet will only be like roberts if they fail to improve their games at all. roberts didn't improve like people thought he would thats why his stock fell.
All these guys with their entourages and off-court problems. Draft me an international player.
eric gordon will stay in Indiana and Oj mayo will be #1, ory hibbert will be #2 and rose will be #3 and then darren collison will be #4
...Didn't McRoberts pay the price for NOT going back to school?
mayo is the easy number 1 and i think rose will be just like conley so conleys sucess this season will contribute to rose's rise on the draft board
beasley will be one. rose will be 2.
Eric Gordon is the Truth...Just wait and see next year when Indiana wins the big ten.
Dominic James will be up there do
What About Devon Hardin from Cal? He was projected to be a late first rounder this year before he dropped out of the draft. He should definitely be a Top 14 pick
jou mortel should be at least in top 7
That must be Hibbert who posted that =)
Has anyone seen Eric Gordon? He HAS to be higher than #8...
Well, if you believe that, I hope you're not a betting man.
Roy Hibbert is another Brendan Haywood. He's maybe top ten. Maybe.
Danilo Gallinari from Italy !
Hibbert is a very good player, but I don't think he's a lock (or even a favorite) for the No.1. He's not quite as athletic as you'd want for a pivot in the current NBA game, and he's not dominant on either side of the court. Still, he's a likely lottery pick...
Hibbert and Tyler Hansborough at North Carolina should be in the top 5 regardless of who comes out early.
You missed one very important prospect - DJ Augustin from Texas.
hibberts not that good he doesnt have that much potential like rose and beasly
Seeing d-rose play, it cant remind you a little bit like a more athletic Gary Payton who makes teammates better
I would say that hibbert is a top five pick but if hibbert was giong to go number one he would be a top five pick this year.
darren collison will be a top 3 pick
I was sorta surprised not to see Kevin Love on that list...I see him as a more polished Tyler Hansborough, and don't expect him to make the same mistake Psycho T made by not leaving after his freshmen season. But...
If I had to pick a number 1 right now I am going with Beasley or Mayo. Beasley is a beast and could very well dominate the Big 12 the way Durant did as a freshman and Mayo has the benefit of the hype machine and a coached that is going to let him average 20 pts a game...even if he takes 40 shots to get it!
Where's Cal's Ryan Anderson? He was one of the top 5 freshmen in the country last year and easily the best freshman in the Pac 10. Chase Budinger is a good player, but had no where near the impact that Anderson did.
Two of those players play for Arizona: Chase Budinger and Jerryd Bayless. Arizona is going to be awesome and hopefully those two will help each other into the top 10. Bear Down Arizona!!
OJ will be the #1 pick
Eric Gordon is One and Done!
