Make Your NCAA Tourney Predictions

Oakland Arena
SIOC thinks Jeff Green is going to be the tournament MVP. Who's your pick?

One more day and counting ...

That's right, less than 24 hours until the NCAA tournament finally begins. So far this week we've asked for recommendations for unique bracket games (besides just picking the winners) and which below-the-radar players we may one day see in the NBA (LINK). Today we want your predictions, but in an organized fashion. Here's what we’re looking for:

• Who's your pick to win it all?

• Which underdog team will make the Final Four?

• Which highly-rated team will get knocked out early?

• Who will be the tournament MVP?

• Give us one completely random prediction.

Here's ours:

• Georgetown – The Hoyas can slow down the pace, and Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert make up the best big-man combo in the tourney (well, besides Florida’s Al Horford and Joakim Noah, but we think Kansas will beat the Gators)

• Memphis – Yes, the Tigers are a No. 2 seed (and not much of an underdog), but no one is picking them to do anything. Except us.

• Texas A&M – Every team has an off-day. Unfortunately, the Aggies' will come in the tourney against Memphis.

• Jeff Green – As he skyrockets past Julian Wright, Horford and Noah to the No. 3 pick in this year’s NBA draft.

Billy Packer announced his retirement during the final game – He’s 67. It’s been a good run. Time for some fresh blood.

Who in the NCAA Tourney is NBA Bound?

Oakland Arena
Oral Roberts' Caleb Green is one tournament player you may one day see in the NBA. Which other below the radar players should we be keeping an eye on?

Tonight's play-in game between Florida A&M and Niagara officially kicks off the NCAA tournament, and while most people may wait until Thursday to start their college basketball fix, we're keeping our eyes glued to the TV. Why? Well, there’s not much on (besides American Idol, which we have queued up on our DVR) and because of Niagara junior Charron Fisher, a 21-point-per-game scorer with an outside shot of playing in the NBA. In fact, almost every team in the tournament has a player with some shot of playing professionally, whether it's the NBA, NBDL or Europe. So who should you look out for? SI.com's Chris Ekstrand wrote about that very subject, and instead of boring you with the obvious choices (Joakim Noah, Nick Fazekas, etc.), here is a sample of some others to watch:

Brigham Young - Trent Plaisted, sophomore
Butler – A.J. Graves, junior
Illinios – Shaun Pruitt, junior
Indiana – D.J. White, junior
New Mexico State – Justin Hawkins, junior
Oral Roberts – Caleb Green, senior
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi - Chris Daniels, senior
UNLV - Wendell White, senior
Virginia Commonwealth - Eric Maynor, sophomore
Wright State - DaShaun Wood, senior

Today we want to hear from you. Which under the radar players in the tournament have futures in pro ball ... and who should be hitting the books to get a jumpstart on their non-basketball careers?

Tell us Your Bracket Games

Oakland Arena
Winthrop is SIOC's pick of low seed that will make the most noise in the tournament. What other bracket games do you play besides predicting the games?
The tournament field has been set and over the next week we'll give you a chance to weigh in on which teams will dominate, surprise, disappoint and ultimately win (though if you can't wait until later in the week, we suggest you check out our four regional breakdowns). Today, however, it's all about the bracket itself, and the different bracket games you can play with your friends.

Of course, nothing beats SI.com's $1 million bracket challenge, but if you want to get a little more creative, we suggest the last 2 left pool, where you're asked just to pick the two teams that will play in the championship game. Other alternative bracket games including picking which lowest seed will go the furthest in the tournament, which state will be best represented in the Sweet 16, picking the over-under on mid-majors upsetting major conference teams, and of course, the non-sports fan special (picking teams based solely on the uniforms, team names and feeling about the school).

We're bored with the traditional pools. Give us your suggestions on how to spice it up?
