Who should head to the NBA (and who shouldn't)
On the flip side, both Greg Oden and Kevin Durant should go pro since they are projected to go No. 1 and No. 2. Despite struggling mightily in the Hoyas' Final Four loss to Ohio State, Georgetown junior Jeff Green already has an NBA-ready game and should declare himself eligible for the draft. Same with Florida's Al Horford, who after two straight national championships has nothing left to prove. Who do you think is ready for the NBA and who needs another year in school? Make your Frozen Four PredictionsToday, SIOC made our predictions and we think Boston College has a huge advantage in net over North Dakota and will skate to an easy victory. In the other matchip, we like Maine's consistency and aren't sold on Michigan State as a national champions, so we like the Black Bears in a tight matchup. In Saturday's finale, we think BC will get past the Black Bears and claim its third title (1949, 2001). Who do you think will win the Frozen Four? Who will be named the Most Outstanding Player? Give us your predictions. 2008's Final Four
Memphis: Add Chicago high school star Derrick Rose, who is Rivals.com's No. 1 point guard in the Class of 2007, and 6-foot-6 swing man Jeff Robinson to a lineup featuring Chris Douglas-Roberts that reached the Elite Eight, and John Calipari's crew may transition from their Paper Tigers' status to a formidable Final Four contender. Louisville: Two Edgar Sosa free-throw misses away from upsetting Texas A&M in this year's second round will make the freshman and his young team hungry. Rick Pitino will feed off the bitter taste deep into March and early April next year. UCLA: Enter Naismith award-winning recruit Kevin Love into the back-to-back Final Four Bruins' lineup and Ben Howland may finally have an offensive player that can complement the tough defense. USC: The Trojans made an unexpected run into March this year, but top-ranked recruit O.J. Mayo's circus act will bring attention aplenty to the fact that USC is growing into a powerful basketball program. Which schools do you think will be in the 2008 Final Four? Let's hear from you. Why Ohio State will win
Wrong. Florida may have the edge in both talent and experience, but they don't have Greg Oden and Mike Conley, both of whom are talented enough to carry the Buckeye squad to victory. That's not to say that the Gators don't have game-changers of their own, but Oden and Conley will be the two best players on the court. The the real key to this game, however, is Thad Matta, and whether he can devise a scheme that will allow his freshmen to shine. Billy Donovan outcoached Ben Howland on Saturday, and we have no doubt he's up to the challenge against OSU, but the pressure in on Motta. Can he devise a strategy to stop Florida's perimeter play? Can he figure out a way to keep Oden in the game and not on the bench? Can he get the real Daequan Cook to come out and play, as opposed to the version we've seen throughout the tournament? The schemes of Matta, in our opinion, are the key to this game. And we have confidence in the OSU coach, which is why we're going against the grain and predicting a Buckeye victory, 77-71.
