Joshua Trott, Glen Cove, N.Y.
Soccer
Joshua, 18, a senior center midfielder at Friends Academy High School in Locust Valley, N.Y., scored 38 goals, the most in Nassau County, and was credited with a team-leading 14 assists as the Quakers won their first county championship.
Amber Klein, Hazen, N.Dak.
Cross-country
Klein, 22, a senior at Adams State College, won the NCAA Division II National Cross-Country Championship in Ashland, Ohio, beating the second-place finisher, teammate Zoila Gomez, by 15 seconds. Klein was also named an All-America for the third time.
Michael E. Jones, Pelham, N.H.
Aquathlon
Jones, 52, a lawyer and part-time judge, won the World International Triathlon Union Aquathlon Masters Championship in Cancún, Mexico, with a time of 38:43 for the mile swim and 21Ú2-mile run. Jones is also the USA Triathlon sprint champ in his age group.
Bryan Otte, Valley Center, Kans.
Volleyball
Otte, 39, coached the Moundridge High School women's volleyball team to their fourth Class 2A state volleyball championship. In his six years coaching the Lady Cats, Otte has achieved a record of 201-22.
Beth Friday, Pittsburgh
Basketball
Friday, a senior forward at Duquesne, became the first woman Duke to score 1,000 career points and grab 1,000 career rebounds. She is also first among Atlantic 10 players in career blocks, with 131 through the first 19 games of this season.
Hunter Price, Charlottesville, Va.
Football
Price, 22, a senior quarterback at Randolph Macon College, set school records for pass completions (571), passing yards (6,359) and total offensive yards (7,360). He was also named the Division II-III offensive back of the year.
Sarah Keel, Prior Lake, Minn.
Rowing
Keel, 73, a retired nurse and grandmother of seven, won the gold medal in the 70-plus women's age group at the British Indoor Rowing Championship in Birmingham, England. She completed the 2,000-meter distance in 9:08.5.
