Shelly Chessie, Fredericton, New Brunswick Ice Hockey Chessie, a senior forward at Bowdoin College, is the school's alltime leading female scorer, with 177 points. She helped the Polar Bears become the only college hockey team (men's or women's) to enter conference tournament play this season undefeated (20-0-3).

		Rick Weil, Huntington Beach, Calif. Boxing Weil, a senior at the U.S. Naval Academy, became only the 10th midshipman in the 62-year history of the Academy's Brigade Tournament to win four consecutive Brigade championships. He is the second middie to win four titles in the same weight class (156 pounds).

Waldo Gutierrez Jr., Morenci, Ariz. Wrestling Waldo, a senior at Morenci High, won his fourth consecutive state high school wrestling title (this year in the 171-pound class). He finished his career with a 184-0 record and was named outstanding wrestler at the All-Star Wrestling Tournament.

		Emily Hunter, Cincinnati Diving Emily, a senior at Indian Hill High, became the first diver in Ohio high school history to win four consecutive state championships. In the one-meter event she amassed 463.65 points to break the Division II record of 438.20 she set last year.

Ryan Harlan, Hewitt, Texas Track and Field Harlan, a senior at Rice University, won the Western Athletic Conference pentathlon title for the fourth straight time. This year he bettered his previous WAC and school record of 4,049 points by nine points. He finished first in three of the five events.

		Meghan Thiel, Arlington, Va. Swimming Meghan, a senior at Yorktown High, won the 500-meter freestyle event for the third straight year at the Virginia State AAA championships. She set a national high school record of 5:26.07, breaking by 10 seconds a mark that had stood for six years.

Ivory Latta, York, S.C. Basketball Ivory, a senior guard at York Comprehensive High, set three state records this season that stand for boys and girls: career points (4,416), most points in a season (1,248) and most points in a game (70). She was named the South Carolina player of the year.
