Jennifer Joiner, Milledgeville, Ga.
Softball
Joiner, a senior righthander at Georgia College & State University, set a school record for career strikeouts with 316. This year she also set a single-season record with 174 strikeouts in 111 1/3 innings, helping the Lady Bobcats go 30-4 through Sunday.
Rami Ratel, Bloomfield, N.J.
Wrestling
Ratel, a senior at Montclair State University, was undefeated in 39 matches this year in the 149-pound class and won the NCAA Division III wrestling championship. He was named most outstanding wrestler at the tournament.
Brooke Boncher, West Newbury, Mass.
Swimming
Boncher, a freshman at the University of Richmond, broke conference records in the 50-yard free, 100-yard free and 100-yard butterfly at the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships in Buffalo. She was named most outstanding rookie performer of the year.
Matt Deamer, Lewistown, Pa.
Track and Field
Deamer, a senior javelin thrower at Susquehanna University, made the second-longest throw (236' 1 1/2") in NCAA Division III history at the Washington & Lee Invitational. He has qualified for the U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Championships this June at Stanford.
Liz Stephen, East Montpelier, Vt.
Skiing
Liz, a sophomore at Burke Mountain Academy, won two gold medals (freestyle and relay), a silver (classical) and a bronze (sprint) in Nordic skiing at the Junior Olympics in Fairbanks, Alaska. She has been competing in Nordic events only since November.
Greg Prenger, Harpster, Ohio
Baseball
Prenger, a senior righthander at Ohio State, pitched the first perfect game in the 120-year history of Buckeyes baseball, retiring all 21 batters in a 2-0 victory over Oakland University. It was Ohio State's eighth no-hitter.
Michael Crotty, Belmont, Mass.
Basketball
Crotty, a junior guard at Williams College, helped the Ephs win their first NCAA Division III title in basketball. He is the school's alltime leader in assists, with 570, including 245 this season. He was named to the NCAA Division III all-tournament team.
