Richelle Simpson, Toronto Gymnastics Simpson, a junior at Nebraska, won the all-around title and the floor exercise, and placed second on the balance beam, at the NCAA Division I championships. She won the Big 12 all-around title and was the conference's gymnast of the year.
Oliver Wilson, Mansfield, England Golf Wilson, a senior at Georgia's Augusta State University, won three individual tournament titles and led the Jaguars to six tournament victories this season. He has been named to Great Britain and Ireland's 2003 Walker Cup team.
Terrence Woods, Memphis Basketball Woods, a junior guard at Florida A&M, led the nation in three-pointers, making 139, the fourth-highest total in NCAA Division I history. He also ranked third in Division I in three-point percentage (45.7).
Ashley Nashleanas, Hinton, Iowa
Swimming
Ashley, a sophomore at Hinton High, set American Paralympic records in the 50- and 200-meter backstroke and the 200-meter butterfly. She will be a member of the U.S. team at the International Blind Swimmers Association world championships.
Nikki Dunn, Southaven, Miss. Softball Nikki, a sophomore righthander for Southaven High, pitched a perfect game, her third of the season, to win the state 5A fast-pitch championship. She had an ERA of 0.18, allowing 34 hits and two earned runs in 101 innings, while striking out 134.
Jimmy Pelzel, Lake Forest, Calif. Volleyball Pelzel, a junior outside hitter at UC Irvine, ranked second in the nation in points (6.37) and fourth in kills (5.16) per game. He set a school single-season record for kills (593) and was named first-team All-America by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Heather Francoeur, Lilburn, Ga. Basketball Francoeur, a senior forward at Oglethorpe University, ended her college career with 1,795 points, a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference record for men and women. This season she led SCAC women in points (591), average (22.7) and rebounds (230).
