Justin Horn, Tripp, S.Dak.
Track and Field
Horn, a recent graduate of Tripp-Delmont High and the only member of the Wildcats' squad at the state meet, finished with 38 points to win the Class B team title. He won the 200 meters, triple jump and long jump, and placed second in the 100.
Will Shriver, Baltimore
Golf
Shriver, 18, became the state's youngest amateur champion when he birdied three of the last four holes to go one up and win the Maryland State Golf Association Men's Amateur at the Old South Country Club in Lothian, Md. He will attend Loyola College in the fall.
Elizabeth Stone, Cohasset, Mass.
Tennis
Elizabeth, a junior at Cohasset High, had an 18-2 record playing first singles for the Lady Skippers, who won their first state championship. She was undefeated as a freshman playing second singles, and her dual-meet career record stands at 38-2.
Glenn Rutenbar, Lakeland, Fla.
Softball
Rutenbar, girls' fast-pitch softball coach at Bartow High, has guided the Yellow Jackets to seven straight state finals, winning three of the last four championships. The 2003 team went undefeated and was ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today.
Tianna Madison, Elyria, Ohio
Track and Field
Madison, a recent graduate of Elyria High, became the third athlete in Ohio history to win four state titles two years in a row. She placed first in the long jump (20' 5 3/4", a state record), 100 and 200 meters, and 4x100 relay at the state track and field championship.
Zack Moore, Pound, Va.
Basketball
Moore, a senior at the University of Virginia's College at Wise, became the school's alltime leader in scoring, with 2,442 points. He was named Appalachian Athletic Conference player of the year and NAIA first-team All-America.
Shaina and Miranda Ervin, Huntersville, N.C.
Softball
Twins Miranda (far right, a catcher) and Shaina (a pitcher), seniors and MVPs at Hopewell High, led their team to a second straight 4A title.
