The U.S. Race Series will launch the inaugural United States Half-Marathon on Sunday, November 3rd, 2002 in San Francisco, with up to 5,000 runners. The 13.1 mile journey will take runners from picturesque Aquatic Park, through historic Fort Mason into the Marina and across the newly renovated Crissy Field and Golden Gate Promenade, with panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz. Nautica Malibu Triathlon Sponsored by Nature Valley
September 15, 2002, Malibu, CA On Sunday, September 15, 2002, at 7:00am, celebrities will join thousands of participants at the 16th Annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon in Malibu, CA. Celebrities, athletes and local competitors will face-off to benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF). This triathlon, the USA Triathlon Southwest Regional Club Championship, features a half-mile Pacific Ocean swim, an 18-mile bike ride along the Pacific Coast Highway and ends with a four-mile scenic run. The popularity of this star-studded event continues to grow and is expected to sell out again this year with 2,000 competitors. The Nautica Malibu Triathlon is an entertaining event offering something for everyone: a spectator expo and a Tot Trot for children under 12. SI WOMEN Sexiest Men in Sports Party

Sports Illustrated Women hosted the first annual Sexiest Men in Sports party at The Sports Club/LA on Tuesday, June 18th in New York City. Approximately 300 guests were in attendance including athletes such as Tiki and Ronde Barber (New York Giants & Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Jenny Thomson (Olympic swimmer), Lenny Krayzelburg (Olympic swimmer), Bode Miller (Olympic Skier), Wally Szczerbiak (Minnesota Timberwolves) and many more.
