But in the Premiership, Chelsea again got the better of Liverpool, adding a 2-0 home win to their 4-1 victory at Anfield in October. William Gallas broke the deadlock 10 minutes before half-time and Hernan Crespo midway though the second half. Liverpool then had goalkeeper Jose Reina sent off for shoving Arjen Robben in the face, although the Dutchman was widely criticised for 'acting' and forcing the referee to show a red card. Coach Jose Mourinho said: "I thought Liverpool started well but they didn't cause us that much danger. But we defended well against a difficult style of play and, when we scored, the game was always going to open up and we took advantage." Chelsea then reached the fifth round of the FA Cup with an impressive 4-1 win against Everton, who had to call on third-choice goalkeeper Iain Turner after Richard Wright was injured in the warm-up. Robben scored first, followed by Frank Lampard (penalty), Crespo and John Terry after Mikel Arteta (penalty) had pulled one back for Everton. The pitch at Stamford Bridge was clearly far from ideal but Chelsea say they have no plans to re-lay it before their Champions League game with Barcelona. Meanwhile, the Blues are still in the hunt for $9 million-rated American 16 year-old Freddy Adu who plays for DC United. This Saturday, Chelsea will beat Middlesbrough having beaten them 1-0 at home in December.
