TEAM NOTES
Coach: Chris Coleman (since April 2003) Premiership
Record: 8-12-5
Rank: 14th, 29 points
Last Result: 4-2 loss at Manchester United, February 4
Streak: Lost 1 Next Game: vs. West Bromwich Albion, February 11 Fulham dropped down a place to 14th following their 4-2 loss against Manchester United. In an exciting contest at Old Trafford, Ji-Sung Park's deflected shot and Cristiano Ronaldo's free-kick put United two ahead inside 13 minutes. Brian McBride hit back for Fulham but Louis Saha then scored for United against his former club seconds later (although television replays showed Ruud van Nistelrooy was offside in the build-up), and even though Heidar Helguson's goal gave Fulham hope, Ronaldo's late strike sealed United's victory. Fulham coach Chris Coleman, who was sent from the dug-out for his protests after Saha's goal, said bitterly: "If I make a mistake in my team selection or tactics I'm going to get punished for it. If someone else makes a mistake they should get punished for it. That's the way I see it. Some of the decisions could have been of a higher standard for sure. I thought my guys were fantastic and dug their heels in and got a couple of goals back and were always in the game." This Saturday, Fulham host West Bromwich Albion who are just two places and three points behind them. They tied 0-0 at The Hawthorns in December, but back in October Fulham were beaten 3-2 at home by West Brom in the Carling Cup.
