Roma's eighth straight Serie A win came behind closed doors at the "neutral" Centro d'Italia stadium in Rieti Wednesday evening. This was punishment for racist banners put up by fans during the game against Livorno in January. Ex-Roma player Daniele Conti once again gave the "visitors" the lead however, but after defender Cesare Bovo had also received a red card in the 77th minute to make it ten against ten, captain Francesco Totti converted two penalty-kicks, the second deep into time added-on, to bag another three points for the Romans. Striker Vincenzo Montella was a second-half substitute, playing for the first time since a spine operation in December. Bovo misses Sunday's game at the Franchi stadium against Siena through suspension, while Shabani Nonda is still injured. Roma won last season's corresponding fixture 4-0.
