DENVER (Ticker) -- Midfielder Mark Chung scored in the first minute of overtime, leading the Colorado Rapids to a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Crew. Stationed at the top of the penalty area, Chung drove a shot past goalkeeper Jon Busch, giving the Rapids their sixth win in their last seven games. After John Spencer converted a penalty kick in the 59th minute to give the Rapids the lead, the Crew answered 14 minutes later to tie the contest. Rushing into open space in the penalty area, Edson Buddle lofted a shot over goalkeeper Scott Garlick and defender Robin Fraser for his fourth goal of the season. The Crew had their winless streak extended to seven games (0-4-3). |
