FOXBORO, Massachusetts (Ticker) -- Taylor Twellman scored in the 52nd minute as the New England Revolution rallied for a 1-1 tie against the San Jose Earthquakes. It was an eventful afternoon as play was suspended following the first overtime period due to a thunderstorm. But play resumed after a 26-minute delay. Brian Kalmer helped set up the tying goal, when he found Twellman with a cross at the top of the penalty area. Twellman put home a shot for his 23rd goal of the season. Despite Twellman's tally, the Revolution (5-8-7) had their winless streak extended to eight games (0-4-4). Ronnie Ekelund scored in the 23rd minute for San Jose, whic improved to 7-1-3 on the road this season. San Jose forward Brian Ching suffered an Achilles tendon injury in the first half. |
