Kerr's opportunistic tally came after two quick cross-goal passes pulled goalkeeper Mike Ammann out of position. Ted Chronopoulous started the play with a throw-in that defender Alexi Lalas headed across the goalmouth to Burns, who headed it to Kerr for the point-blank finish. Evans Wise stole the ball from Richard Gough just outside the penalty area and scored in the 58th minute to provide the Revolution (11-7) with an insurance goal. Gough got Kansas City's (12-7) only shot in the first half off a corner kick. |
