Coach Perry Van Der Beck will oversee invited tryouts from Jan. 7-11. The Mutiny will officially begin its preseason training for 2002 at Ed Radice Park on Jan. 15.

Three of the Mutiny's youngsters spent four weeks in England training with Premiership sides Tottenham and Charlton Athletic. F Devin Barclay worked with Spurs, while F Ali Curtis and M Gus Kartes spent time with Charlton.

"This was a good experience for the players, not only training every day and keeping fit in the off-season, but working with players of that level is priceless," Van Der Beck said. "It was especially encouraging to hear how well Devin performed with Tottenham."
