They had to win against RBC and could only hope for a false step made by FC Zwolle or Vitesse. The first mentioned did, as they lost 7-1 at Feyenoord, while FC Volendam beat RBC 2-1. Jack Tuyp was the celebrated man, he scored both Volendam goals and became club top scorer with seven goals. In the end the Volendam crowd got some nine scary minutes, when RBC put one back. Fortunately, it was the final score. It is in Group B with SBV Excelsior, Heracles Almelo and De Graafschap and start this Wednesday at Heracles Almelo. Gijs Luirink collected the most cards (six yellow and two red). Overall FC Volendam received 42 yellow and three red cards (the other was Ronald Breinburg).
