ATLANTA (CNN/SI) -- Despite a goal from all-time U.S. scoring leader Eric Wynalda, the U.S. national team fell 2-1 to Morocco in Marrakech on Wednesday in the team's final international friendly of the year.

The U.S. finished the year with a 7-4-2 record under new coach Bruce Arena.

Adil Ramzi opened the scoring for Morocco in the 15th minute after slotting a ball home from eight yards out. Forward Salaheddine Bassir began the play from the left wing, beating a defender and driving a low, line-drive into the penalty area.

The U.S. came right back in the 18th minute with Wynalda scoring his U.S.-record 33rd international goal after collecting a long ball from Chad Deering out of the midfield and hitting a right-footed shot into the lower left corner.

Morocco went ahead again in the 26th minute on a penalty kick by Mustapha Hadji, who drove the ball low and to the left corner to beat U.S. goalkeeper Kasey Keller. The penalty was set-up by a 25th minute foul by Keller on Bassir in the penalty area.

The U.S. nearly equalized in the 65th minute when Jovan Kirovski collected the ball at midfield, dribbled 40 yards, and hit a left-footed shot from the top of the box that was well saved for a corner kick.

Lineups:

U.S.: Kasey Keller (Brad Friedel, 46), David Regis, Gregg Berhalter, C.J. Brown, Frankie Hejduk, Chris Armas, Chad Deering, Claudio Reyna, Jovan Kirovski, Joe-Max Moore (Steve Ralston, 76), Eric Wynalda (Jason Kreis, 59).
