Becky Burleigh has been the head soccer coach at the University of Florida since the program began in 1995. Burleigh became the first female coach to lead a team to the NCAA title when the Gators won the 1999 national championship. Florida finished the 1999 regular season 21-1 and won the SEC Tournament. The Gators' season ended November 14 with a 1-0 loss to Hartford in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Burleigh's diary appeared weekly on CNNSI.com during the season.
