CHICAGO (AP) -- Dallas Burn forward Jason Kreis, who has three goals in five games this season, was selected along with Colorado defender Marcelo Balboa and Columbus right winger Brian West to fill in the American roster for its April 26 friendly against Russia in Moscow, the U.S. federation announced Tuesday.

Kreis, who scored 18 goals to share the U.S. Major League Soccer scoring title last season with Stern John and Roy Lassiter, will replace Everton forward Joe-Max Moore, who is recovering from an injury.

Similarly, other injuries have Balboa, who has 128 caps, substituting for DC United defender Eddie Pope and West taking the place of NAC Breda forward Earnie Stewart.

The match will be fourth meeting between the United States and Russia and the first in Russia. Russia has won two of the previous three meetings. The other was a draw. The United States and the Soviet Union played four times with the Soviets winning three and the other resulting in a draw.
