F.A. considers Twickenham Rugby's home could host future F.A. Cup
LONDON (Reuters) -- The Football Association (FA) is discussing the possibility of staging future FA Cup finals at Twickenham, the home of English rugby union. Cardiff's Millennium Stadium will host Saturday's match between Arsenal and Liverpool and is scheduled to stage the final until 2004 while Wembley stadium is being redeveloped. "We are involved in continuing discussions with a number of stadiums around the country, including Twickenham," an FA spokesman said on Friday. "It is not a matter of picking up our bags and never returning to Cardiff." Last month the FA asked the owners of the Millennium Stadium to relay the pitch because it was unhappy at the state of the grass. There were also traffic problems around the stadium before and after the League Cup final in February.
