KRAKOW, Poland (AP)- With Ronaldo watching from the bench, Internazionale Milan lost 1-0 to Wisla Krakow on Tuesday and squeezed into the third round of the UEFA Cup 2-1 on aggregate.

The Brazilian star striker, who still has to play a Serie A match this season, suffered a light right thigh strain in a UEFA Cup match against Brasov earlier this month.

A two-time FIFA player of the year, Ronaldo returned to competitive soccer on Sept. 20 following two knee operations and a long rehabilitation which sidelined him for nearly two years.

Maciej Zurawski, the Polish league's leading striker with 10 goals in 13 matches, scored the winner in the fourth minute off a pass from Tomasz Frankowski.

Zurawski was close to raising the score in the 17th minute after an error by Inter's defense, but goalkeeper Alberto Fontana managed to push the ball away.

At the beginning of the second half, Wisla's Miroslaw Szymkowiak hit the right post with a free kick from just outside Milan's penalty area.

In a rough and fast match largely controlled by Wisla, Inter had several scoring opportunities. The best one came in the 58th minute when Luigi Di Biaggio's powerful header missed Wisla's goal by inches (centimeters).
