MILAN (Reuters) -- Juventus striker David Trezeguet has been voted Italy's Player of the Year for last season by members of the Italian players union (AIC).

As well as winning the overall award, French international Trezeguet was named best foreign player in Serie A.

The awards are in recognition of his 24 goals which made him joint-top scorer in Serie A last term as he helped Juventus win its 26th league title.

Chievo coach Luigi Del Neri was awarded the "Golden Bench" in a vote of Serie A and B coaches -- a reward for an outstanding debut season in the top flight for the team from a tiny suburb of Verona who finished fifth.

Inter Milan striker Christian Vieri was named Best Italian player, while Young Player of the Year was Parma midfielder Matteo Brighi who played for Bologna last season.

Pierluigi Collina was selected as Best Referee.
