In a match between two relegation-threatened teams, Borussia Moenchengladbach edged Hannover 1-0 on a goal by Igo Demo. Barbarez, a Bosnian striker, scored in the 56th minute, then got sent off in the 68th after earning his second yellow card of the match for arguing with a linesman. Barbarez got his first booking also for arguing, that time when his score was disallowed. With time running out, Peter Graulund used a defensive mistake to strike the late equalizer for Bochum. Neither team made any moves in the table, with Hamburg staying seventh and Bochum 10th. Demo, a Slovakian midfielder, notched the winner for Moenchengladbach after 15 minutes and his team moved up two places to 13th. Promoted Hannover dropped its fourth in a row.
