Midfielder Alex Oliveira scored in the 50th minute and Ademilson netted again in the 59th. Striker Fabio Bala, the tournament's leading scorer with 10 goals, came off the bench to seal the win with a penalty kick in the 72nd minute. Flamengo defenders Fernando and Alessandro were sent off in the second half because of dangerous tackles. Fluminense played without defender Jean Carlos and midfielder Carlos Alberto, who are playing for Brazil's under-20 squad in a friendly tournament in Malaysia.
