Notes: The first all-Italian final is also only the second in which two teams from the same country have taken part following Real Madrid's victory over Valencia in an all-Spanish affair in Paris three years ago.

Whoever wins, Italy will be joining Spain on a record-equalling 10th European champions title, one more than England.

Curiously, both Juventus and Milan have not played in the Champions League final since a third successive appearance in the 1990s.

Both teams lost -- Juventus to Real Madrid in 1998 (after beating Ajax Amsterdam in 1996 and losing to Borussia Dortmund in 1997) and AC Milan to Ajax in 1995 (after losing to Olympique Marseille in 1993 and beating Barcelona in 1994).

No Italian team has appeared in the final since 1998.

It will be Juventus's seventh final and Milan's ninth.

Juventus has never scored more than one goal in the final and has amassed a tally of just three in six games. Milan, by contrast, remains the only team to score at least four goals in three finals (1969, 1989 and 1994).

The match could turn into a question of whether Juventus's lively attack can break down a Milan side which has kept six clean sheets in 10 games since the second group phase began. Juventus, by contrast, have kept just one clean sheet in that time.

It will be the first final ever to be staged at Old Trafford, Manchester and the sixth at an English venue.

Five took place at the former Wembley Stadium in London. Milan won the first of those, beating Benfica 2-1 in 1963. The other finals were in 1968, 1971, 1978 and 1992.
