Germany midfielder Holtby to join Tottenham

LONDON (AP) -- Germany midfielder Lewis Holtby has agreed to join Tottenham from Schalke in July after reaching a deal with the Premier League club.

Tottenham says the free transfer is subject to Holtby passing a medical examination.

The 22-year-old Holtby rejected a proposed extension of his Schalke contract, which expires at the end of the season.
