PARIS (AP) -- Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out signing Nicolas Anelka, even though the former France and Chelsea striker is training with the club.

Anelka was a key player in the Chelsea team that won the Premier League and FA Cup double under Ancelotti's guidance three seasons ago, and they have remained close friends since.

Speaking ahead of Friday's league match against Ajaccio, Ancelotti says "he's merely training with us. I'm not thinking of signing him.''

The 33-year-old Anelka, who started his career with PSG, is currently playing for Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

Ancelotti adds that "we'll see if he asks for a (PSG) contract, but I honestly don't think that's possible.''
