TURIN, Italy (AP) -- Juventus appears set to extend the contract of Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon through 2014-15.

The squad says on its website that Buffon and club president Andrea Agnelli will hold a news conference Wednesday.

The Gazzetta dello Sport reports on its website that the contract extension is pretty much a done deal.

The 34-year-old Buffon is currently in his 12th season with Juventus, after beginning his career with Parma. He has helped Juventus to three Serie A titles, plus two that were revoked in the 2006 match-fixing scandal known as "Calciopoli.''

During Italy's run to the 2006 World Cup title, Buffon allowed only two goals in seven matches. He has made 123 appearances for the Azzurri, third all-time behind record-holder Fabio Cannavaro (136) and Paolo Maldini (126).
