PARIS (AP) -- Paris Saint-Germain has loaned veteran Uruguay center half Diego Lugano to Spanish club Malaga until the end of the season.

Lugano, who has made 76 international appearances, joined PSG from Turkish club Fenerbahce in August, 2011 but started only nine league games in his first season and has not played at all for the club this term.

PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti said on PSG's website that Lugano was "very professional and very dedicated'' during his time at the club and "he will surely get more playing time'' in Spain.

The 32-year-old Lugano will have one more year remaining on his PSG contract at the end of the season.
