Swansea makes club history in dominant League Cup final

LONDON (AP) - Swansea marked its centenary season by winning its first major trophy, outclassing fourth-tier club Bradford to win the League Cup final 5-0.

Nathan Dyer and Jonathan de Guzman scored twice, and Michu also netted at Wembley Stadium to secure the biggest victory margin in the final of English soccer's second-tier knockout competition.

It was the first time a Welsh club won an English cup since Cardiff's success in the 1927 FA Cup, and ended Bradford's remarkable cup run. Bradford became the first fourth-tier team to reach a major final since 1962 by knocking out Premier League sides Arsenal, Aston Villa and Wigan.

Bradford goalkeeper Matt Duke was sent off in the 56th minute before De Guzman made it 4-0 from the penalty spot.
