MADRID (AP) -- Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has returned to practice for the first time since breaking his left hand nearly two months ago.

Casillas, who was injured on Jan. 24, will be back in time for the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Galatasaray in two weeks.

Casillas will likely have to compete with newcomer Diego Lopez, who was brought in from Sevilla after Casillas broke his hand in a Copa del Rey game against Valencia.

Madrid is 13 points behind Barcelona in the Spanish league, but it is also set to play in the Copa del Rey final against Atletico Madrid on May 17.
