France: Lyon edges Montpellier in Ligue 1
MONTPELLIER, France (AP) -- Clement Grenier scored in the last minute of stoppage time to give Lyon a 2-1 win over defending champion Montpellier in the French league Friday to provisionally move into second place.
Grenier fired a half-volley into the top corner to lift the team one point ahead of Marseille, which hosts Brest on Saturday. Lyon still trails leader Paris Saint-Germain by eight points.
Lisandro Lopez gave Lyon the lead by heading into the bottom corner in the 29th minute, but Montpellier playmaker Younes Belhanda leveled in the 41st with a low drive from the edge of the box.
