PSG salvages tie to stay atop Ligue 1; France roundup
PARIS (AP) - Midfielder Blaise Matuidi scored a fortuitous goal deep into injury time as Paris Saint-Germain kept its unbeaten record and stayed top of the French league after coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 away to Saint-Etienne on Sunday.
PSG was seriously rocked by a Saint-Etienne side which played without fear and took the game to coach Laurent Blanc's side. Last season, Saint-Etienne won away to PSG, drew at home and knocked PSG out of the League Cup quarterfinals, and it looked in complete control after goals from wingers Benjamin Corgnet and Romain Hamouma.
But after Fabien Lemoine was sent off in the 58th minute, PSG pulled a goal back through striker Edinson Cavani 10 minutes later and then Matuidi's lofted pass beat goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier.
Earlier, Monaco beat Lyon 2-1.
